Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of terms
Access to and use of the SmartLease portal and related services (“Services”) is subject to these Terms of Service. By registering, logging in, or using the Services, you agree to be bound by these terms and our Privacy Policy.
2. Eligibility and account
You must be at least 18 years old and have the legal capacity to enter into contracts. You are responsible for keeping your account credentials secure and for all activity under your account. You must provide accurate and complete information and update it as needed.
3. Use of the Services
You may use the Services only for lawful purposes related to land applications, verification, ownership transfers, ground rent, and related administrative processes. You may not misuse the platform, attempt to gain unauthorized access, submit false information, or interfere with the operation of the Services or other users.
4. Applications and payments
Application windows, fees, and requirements are set by the relevant government authority and may change. Payment of fees does not guarantee allocation or approval. Refunds are subject to the applicable project and payment policy. You are responsible for any taxes or charges that apply to your use of the Services.
5. Ownership keys and security
Where the Services issue ownership or verification keys, you are responsible for storing and protecting them. Loss or disclosure of keys may affect your ability to prove ownership or complete transfers. We are not liable for loss resulting from your failure to safeguard keys.
6. Intellectual property and content
The SmartLease platform, its design, and our content are owned by us or our licensors. You may not copy, modify, or distribute our materials without permission. You retain ownership of content you submit; you grant us a license to use it to provide the Services.
7. Disclaimers and limitation of liability
The Services are provided “as is”. We do not warrant uninterrupted or error-free operation. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Services. Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid to us in the twelve months before the claim.
8. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these terms or for operational or legal reasons. You may close your account at any time. Provisions that by their nature should survive (e.g. disclaimers, limitations of liability) will survive termination.
9. Changes and governing law
We may update these terms; we will post changes on this page and update the “Last updated” date. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance. These terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Nigeria.
